SCA
SAYDS Community Association
SCA stands for SAYDS Community Association. It is a semi-autonomous arm of SAYDS that aids in the implementation of projects designed during the fellowship. The association is run and managed by graduate fellows who now put to practice what they have learnt. We are able to achieve the above through the extensive knowledge and network built by SAYDS that help make the process as impactful and effective as possible.
Who is SCA?
These are fellows who have grown through the SAYDS program.Using principles and techniques from the SAYDS fellowship, they run social change initiatives in their communities.

-
Maintain the vital link between SAYDS and our Alumni fellows who have graduated through the complexity and systems thinking program.
-
Monitor and support the implementation of different youth-led initiatives among our members and associates.
-
Create a forum through which we can support collaborations through different youth groups working on different social change initiatives.

How we do it
Training
In order to impact the communities we live in, we conduct short training sessions on systems and complexity thinking
Structuring
We help our members with the registration process for their NGOs and CBOs. We also help in forming of a proper structure effective for implementation.
Networking
Through beneficial partnerships with relevant stakeholders and reach to diaspora we help members establish long term connections useful to them.
Project Design
Once you are armed with the information needed, we help you structure your project and hopefully walk with you during your entire project journey.
MORE ON SAYDS
SIP Analysis
Fellows are expected to come up with SIP analysis documents for the project they finally design. Using systems thinking, we have identified stakeholders-including you-, their roles and responsibilities, how they interact and interconnect as part of understanding the problems.
The stakeholders working towards a common purpose are better placed to predict and cope well with emergence and self-organization of the emergent property using systems tshinking knowledge and skills. During this process we have and continue to consult the public (stakeholders) on what resources, the beneficiaries, the decision makers within the systems to be able to improve our proposed solution

“We come up with this document because we have realized through use of complexity thinking that networks often reproduce dominant ‘ideas’ regarding the nature of the policy problem, there is a language we use to describe it, and the political feasibility of potential solutions. We propose a tip of balance from scientific to policy-relevant measures of evidence quality to be spearheaded by your organization to cause a positive network affect towards improving education outcomes.” – SIAYA Team
